Atlantis USA Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports veterans. This notice explains how we handle information collected through this website, donation checkout, and our contact forms.

Information you provide

When you donate, we and the services involved in checkout may collect your name, contact and billing information, donation amount, payment method, and transaction details. Contact and check or wire transfer inquiry forms collect the information shown on those forms, such as your name, email, phone number, message, and proposed gift details. Please do not put card numbers, bank account details, medical information, or other sensitive information in a contact form.

How the foundation uses information

We use donor information to administer gifts, maintain necessary donation and accounting records, and send donation receipts and tax acknowledgments. We use inquiry information to respond to your request. We do not sell donor information or use it for advertising.

Who has access

Within the foundation, access to donor information is limited to authorized board members. Website and payment service companies also process information needed to provide their services. Information may also need to be disclosed to meet legal obligations.

Website and payment services

Squarespace hosts this website and supports its forms and donation checkout. The payment services used for the method you select handle payment processing under their own privacy practices. Enter payment information only in the designated donation checkout. Our forms use Google reCAPTCHA for spam and abuse protection. Embedded YouTube videos are provided by Google.

Cookies and embedded content

Squarespace and integrated services may receive technical information such as IP address, browser and device information, and pages visited. Necessary cookies support site operation and security. Nonessential cookies may support analytics or embedded content. Use the site’s cookie choices, where offered, to accept or decline nonessential cookies. Browser settings also let you manage cookies. Some features may not work when cookies are blocked.

Keeping and protecting records

We keep information for as long as needed for the purposes above, including applicable accounting, tax, and legal recordkeeping obligations. We take reasonable precautions to protect it, but no website or electronic transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.

Questions and privacy requests

You may ask about your information or request access, correction, or deletion by using our contact page and identifying your message as a privacy request. Please provide only the information needed to locate your record. We may need to verify your identity. Some records must be retained to meet legal or accounting obligations.
